New Director Appointment
Nantwich commercial and agricultural law firm Bowcock Cuerden LLP has just announced the promotion of lawyer Jamie Want to Director.
Jamie qualified in 2002 and specialises in corporate transactions and administration, general commercial work and insolvency. He joined the firm in 2012 as an Associate Solicitor.
Jamie is dual qualified, in that as well as being a solicitor here he is also a member of the Australian Bar. Nonetheless he has decided that his future is firmly fixed in Cheshire. He said: “My wife and children were all born in Crewe and Nantwich and all of them have attended school locally. Although I live locally, until I joined the firm I had always worked outside the area. BCllp is a commercial law firm with a strong reputation but a non-city location. Having been part of the team for five years I am delighted to be appointed a Director”.
The firm was founded in 1994 and has been accredited to Lexcel, the Law Society’s prestigious practice management standard, for an impressive fifteen years, having been one of the frontrunners in achieving that standard. It is one of six law firms on the national legal panel of the Canal and River Trust (formerly British Waterways), one of five on the national panel of the Land Trust and one of sixteen on the national panel of the National Farmers Union.
Managing Director Philip Cuerden said: “We are very pleased to be able to strengthen the firm, and in particular our Corporate and Commercial department, by Jamie’s appointment as director. During his years here he has shown himself to be a “safe pair of hands” in dealing with a range of corporate commercial and insolvency matters, and has become recognised as such by increasing numbers of clients. We expect that he will be the first of a number of talented individuals to rise within the firm over the next few years.”
