- About Us
Bowcock Cuerden is the leading commercial law practice, and the leading Law Society accredited legal practice in South Cheshire.
Based in the historic market town of Nantwich, Bowcock Cuerden was formed by Brian Bowcock, Philip Cuerden and David Thorp in January 1994. Starting as a small, yet dedicated team, we have enjoyed significant growth since then to achieve our current size. In 1998 we were strengthened by litigation and employment law specialist, Lesley Smith, who became a partner in 2000. In 2005 the firm incorporated as a Limited Liability Partnership and in 2017 corporate and insolvency law specialist Jamie Want became a member and director of the firm, and in 2019 litigation and commercial lawyer Carina Pennant-Williams also became a member and director.
We have built an enviable reputation based on providing high quality legal services driven by a client focused approach. Our aim is simple. Concentrating on specific areas of work for commercial clients, together with a specialist private client team, we strive to provide a level of quality expertise equivalent to many city-based firms – but at lower cost and on a more accessible basis.
Meeting your needs is our primary goal; creating a clear communication channel is the first step towards ensuring this takes place. Our approach is down to earth and results orientated. That’s why we are happy to let our work and the solutions we achieve for our clients do the talking for us rather than investing in costly marketing campaigns; our reputation speaks for itself.
We work with a wide range of clients throughout the UK and overseas. We are also proud to be a Panel firm for the Canal & River Trust (formerly British Waterways Board), the Land Trust and the NFU (Cheshire and Derbyshire).
