FIXED FEE RETAINER FOR EMPLOYERS

Our bespoke fixed fee retainers are a manageable way of ensuring access to a dedicated employment law Solicitor, so that we are here when you need us, without you having to worry about the potential cost.

Your business will receive clear practical and employment law and HR advice. Advice is generally given by telephone and email, with the option of face to face meetings when required.

The costs of the service is fixed and payment can be made by monthly direct debit. Receipted invoices can be supplied monthly or quarterly, to suit your needs.

What are the benefits?
We recognise that some employment law queries can be dealt with immediately, whilst others can be more complex and require time and attention. Employers cannot know what employment law challenges each month might bring. Our service therefore suits businesses wanting to remove the uncertainty of the cost of employment law issues, without compromising on the standard of advice and service they should expect from their Solicitors.
You will have a dedicated and experienced Solicitor working for you, so we can get to know and understand your business. We will be available for advice and support, without you having to worry about escalating costs.
Our Solicitors are experienced in advising about a full range of employment issues, including misconduct, sickness absence, discrimination, whistle-blowing, unfair, constructive and wrongful dismissal, redundancy and settlement agreements. Our Solicitors stay up to date with changes to employment law so you can be assured you are receiving current guidance.

What will it cost?
Our fixed fees are bespoke and will depend on the size of your business and number of employees. For small businesses with fewer than 10 employees, we can offer a limited package, at an affordable monthly fee of £175. This includes dealing with up to 15 enquiries a month, commencing one employee procedure (i.e. disciplinary, performance improvement or a grievance) and reviewing contracts and policies. If any re-drafting or new contracts are required, we will offer discounted fixed fees for that additional work.

For larger businesses, more assistance is likely to be required. Excluding the top-ups below, we can provide unlimited assistance each month for a fee of £700, which includes all contract and policy drafting, GDPR notices for employees, letter drafting and settlement agreements, as well as unlimited employee procedures right up to ACAS conciliation. We will also inform you of any employment law developments which might affect your business.
If your requirements fall somewhere between the above packages, we will discuss this with you and work on a bespoke retainer. Additional services (or top-ups) are:

• Employment Tribunal or Court representation
• TUPE advice
• Redundancy work where more than 3 posts are at risk

Again, we can agree fixed fees if you would like to add these services to your package. You may wish to consider obtaining employment insurance to cover any Employment Tribunal costs. This would be a separate to our retainer and you could speak to an insurance broker about this. All fees quoted above are exclusive of VAT.

For NFU members (with ‘famer and grower’ membership), given our legal panel membership, we offer a 12.5% discount on the above rates.

Our retainer will be for a minimum term of 6 months and can then be terminated at any time on giving 3 months’ notice.
