Bowcock Cuerden Complete The Christie Challenge

The team at Bowcock Cuerden completed The Christie Challenge recently. Lisa Clark from The Chrsitie came along to be presented with a big cheque featuring the total amount raised by BC over the years of fundraising. The whole team were delighted to complete the challenge and to raise money for such an amazing and important charity. The Christie is very close to everyone’s hearts at BC and they all share a passion for the cause.  The Christie is the largest single site cancer centre in Europe and treat more than 60,000 patients a year which makes such a difference every day to those whose lives are affected by cancer.

The Christie Challenge is an exciting campaign launched a few years ago. The aim is to complete 6 different fundraising activities to complete the challenge. BC had planned to participate in several activities throughout the year to raise money so it was an ideal option for our corporate fundraising plan. The medals and challenge also added an extra layer of anticipation and fun for all colleagues to take part in. Working together to come up with fundraising ideas involving everyone at work, we soon completed the 6 challenges and raised £1000’s for The Christie.

With a nice mix of marathon running, sweepstakes and auctions BC completed the activities one by one and received the lovely medals which came in an elegant box display. The medals were a rainbow jigsaw design and over the course of the challenge, the rainbow shape came together until the full jigsaw was complete which is now proudly displayed in the reception. Most importantly of all BC raised crucial funds for patient care at The Christe Hospital. Thank you to Lisa Clark @TeamChristie for coming along to present us with the final medal. The total figure raised over the years was a brilliant £8447.36 .
